Interventions

The physical therapists at Peak conduct a comprehensive examination and formulate an appropriate course of treatment designed to decrease pain and inflammation; improve movement, flexibility, posture, strength and performance and to promote maximal independence and capacity for activities of daily living, sports or work. You are very much an individual at Peak Physical Therapy. Patients see the same therapists throughout the course of their therapy. We provide an integrated approach to therapy, selecting a combination of treatments that are customized to each individual's needs. A sampling of the treatments includes:

Therapeutic Exercise: Muscular imbalances and impairments are addressed through movement reeducation, and a variety of flexibility, strengthening and cardiovascular exercises.

Manual Therapy Techniques: Techniques utilized include soft tissue mobilization, massage, myofascial release, strain counter strain, craniosacral therapy, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilization and mobilization of the spine and extremities.

Modalities: Peak Physical Therapy is equipped with the latest modalities. Clinicians also use iontophoresis, ultrasound, phonophoresis, interferential and neuromuscular stimulation, traction as well as electromyographic biofeedback to enhance the treatment effects of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

Education: Patients are instructed in managing their own care. This includes home exercise programs, pain management techniques, postural and body mechanics education.

Functional Training: This approach focuses on self care and home management, as well as community, sport and work integration. Often this includes postural and body mechanics analysis, balance re education and gait training.

Industrial Injury Consulting: Services include work site assessment, functional capacity evaluation and work conditioning.

Vestibular Rehabilitation: Vestibular (inner ear balance) disorders can cause dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, problems with hearing, nausea, fatigue, anxiety, concentration, and other symptoms. They can deeply affect a person's day-to-day functioning, ability to work, social relationships, and quality of life. Peak Physical Therapy offers a program that retrains the brain to recognize and process signals from the vestibular system in coordination with information from vision and proprioception. This involves desensitizing the balance system to movements that provoke symptoms, and occasionally specialized maneuvers to facilitate inner ear debris..
